Pulsar Plugin Loader

Pulsar is an alternative Space Engineers launcher that allows you to install client-side plugins to fix a range of performance, loading time, and quality of life issues that mods alone cannot solve.

We strongly recommend using Pulsar if playing on our servers.

Installation

You can download via the Pulsar Installation wizard or the Pulsar Plugin Loader files. Follow the instructions on GitHub to install Pulsar.

Your Antivirus may detect Pulsar as malware. That's a false positive. The reason behind this is that the volunteer team maintaining Pulsar will not pay ~250$ a year to keep the application certified.

After installation, launch Legacy.exe (.NET 4.8) or Interim.exe (.NET 10) and Space Engineers should start. Interim.exe will provide a performance boost, but it’s a community port so there may be some compatibility issues.

If you’re on Linux, consider downloading the .tar.gz release files and using the native Linux port (Interim.bin/.NET 10 only).

Usage

There should be a new button in the main menu, Plugins, which takes you to your list of active plugins.

Pulsar allows for side loading of plugins (left side) submitted to Plugin Hub, as well as whitelisted Steam Workshop Mods (right side).

Click the plus near the bottom to add plugins or mods from the repository, then click 'apply'. Your game needs to be restarted after enabling or disabling one or more plugins.

Please note, the original PluginLoader by avaness has been deprecated and Pulsar is its successor.
